Overview

ActivityKit starts and updates Live Activities for things that unfold over time, like a delivery, a game or a ride. You design them with WidgetKit and SwiftUI, and update them from the app or with push notifications.

From iPhone they also appear on Apple Watch, in StandBy, on the CarPlay Dashboard and in the Mac menu bar, and buttons can run App Intents.

Dynamic Island

Glanceable updates while people use other apps.

Push updates

Update one device, or broadcast to millions.

More places

Apple Watch, CarPlay, StandBy and the Mac.

Interactive

Buttons that run App Intents.

OrderTracking.swift
import ActivityKit struct OrderAttributes: ActivityAttributes { let orderID: String struct ContentState: Codable, Hashable { var status: String var readyAt: Date } } let activity = try Activity.request( attributes: OrderAttributes(orderID: "A42"), content: .init( state: .init(status: "Preparing", readyAt: .now.addingTimeInterval(600)), staleDate: nil ) )
