AirPlay
Stream audio and video from Apple devices to Apple TV, HomePod, speakers and smart TVs.
Overview
AirPlay lets people stream audio and video from iPhone, iPad and Mac to Apple TV, HomePod, AirPlay-enabled speakers and receivers, and many smart TVs. AirPlay 2 adds multiroom audio, so the same music can play in sync across several speakers, and it also streams to a Mac and to TVs in select hotel rooms.
For developers, adoption needs only minimal configuration. AVFoundation has built-in AirPlay support for playback, and AVKit provides AVRoutePickerView so people can choose an output device. Audio apps that set the long-form audio route-sharing policy get AirPlay 2 buffering and multiroom playback.
