Overview

RealityKit is Apple's 3D engine, built on an entity component system. It handles physically based rendering, animation, physics, spatial audio and anchoring to the real world, and it's the way to build for Apple Vision Pro.

Show 3D content in SwiftUI with RealityView, and author scenes in Reality Composer Pro. WWDC26 adds lightmaps, soft shadows, cloth, navigation meshes and Gaussian splats.

RealityView

Put 3D content straight into SwiftUI.

Entity component system

Compose behavior from reusable components and systems.

Lighting

Lightmaps, soft shadows and projective textures.

Simulation

Physics, cloth, navigation meshes and spatial audio.

GlobeView.swift
import RealityKit import SwiftUI struct GlobeView: View { var body: some View { RealityView { content in let globe = ModelEntity( mesh: .generateSphere(radius: 0.1), materials: [SimpleMaterial(color: .blue, isMetallic: false)] ) content.add(globe) } } }
